Miranda “Biggs” Helfenbein is an LBC 2021 Alumni and graduated from Kent Island High School in 2021.
She was a multi-sport athlete at Kent Island High School, where she played three varsity in lacrosse and four in soccer. A team captain in lacrosse her senior year. During her high school career she won one regional championship each in soccer and lacrosse. She played defensive midfield during her high school career and continued to pursue her lacrosse career at Longwood University.
Over her career, she has started 56 games, totaling 29 goals, 16 assists, 97 ground balls, 78 caused turnovers, and 108 draw controls. She has led Longwood in caused turnovers multiple seasons, finishing 3rd in the Big South and 7th nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.53) as a junior. She also ranked 5th in the Big South in ground balls per game (2.60, 39th nationally) and was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week during 2024 season. In her senior year, she was named a team captain.
